Sermon Application Questions 2 Timothy 1:8-18
Read the passage again, and have someone review the message from their notes.

1. Talk about the idea of being “ashamed.” (There are various degrees of “holding back” in conversation with people).

2. Where is one place (or person) where you are tempted to “hold back” in terms of talking about Christ or His people? Take some time to talk about that thoroughly and pray for one another.

3. a. The call to “share in suffering for the gospel” includes the provision of God’s empowering. How have you experienced that in your life?
b. In both v. 7 and 8, Paul reminds us of God’s empowering in order to encourage faith in our obedience. How are you affected by those words?

4. Do you think that you have a good understanding of Christian “suffering”? Why do you think Paul gives the instruction to “share in suffering”? [1:8; 2:3; 4:5]
