CELL QUESTIONS

SERMON APPLICATION QUESTIONS “Becoming a Vessel Useful to the Master”
Read 2 Timothy 2:20-26 and have someone review the message from their notes.

1. Review the metaphor (v. 20) and the interpretation (v.21). The rest of the passage is an application of this metaphor. Implied in these verses is this thought, “You can make yourself more useful to the Master.” How do you respond to that?

2. v. 22-23 contain the first type of application. We are to flee (like “running for your life”) youthful passions. And we are to pursue (like “stalking”) righteousness, faith, love and peace.
What strikes you about the intensity of these 2 verbs? How do respond these 2 commands?

3. “…along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.” How has Biblical fellowship helped you in responding to “flee and pursue” the right things in your life?

4. v. 24-26 addresses how to respond to opponents (or critics). What surprised you in these verses?

5. There is a part for us to do, and there is a part that God might do. What is necessary in order to do our part? How have you experienced that? (or in what ways do you need prayer for a current struggle?)
